Upon turning eighteen, Salih leaves the orphanage to find his lost family and begins working in a Serbian farm. Suddenly, at the most unexpected moment he has found a home. This ambitious drama is directed by Ozan Açıktan and draws attention to the remnants of the Bosnian war. The film boasts an impressive cast of Meryem Uzerli, Ozan Güven, Belçim Bilgin, Okan Yalabık and Bora Akkaş.
Ozan Açıktan studied cinematography at the Polish National Film School in Lodz. With his second short film “Marlis ile Metro” he won the Best Short Film Award at the Grup Short Film Competition. He attended the Berlinale Talent Campus the same year.
Açıktan then went on to study screenwriting and dramaturgy at the Film Academy Baden Wurttemberg in Ludwigsburg.
His debut feature, “Çok Filim Hareketler Bunlar”, was released in 2010 became 6th in the national box office. Two years later, he directed the comedy “Sen Kimsin?” (2012), which was the 3rd on the national box office. His third feature, psychological thriller “Silsile”, screened in the 2014 Moscow International Film Festival and won the award for Best Cinematography at the İstanbul Film Festival, best supporting actor, best supporting actress and best young actor at the Adana Altın Koza Film Festival in the same year.
