Adile Naşit
In all theaters on December 5!
The life story of an unforgettable woman who breathed in the magic of the stage as a child and touched generations with her laughter: Adile Naşit…
“Adile Naşit” takes the audience on an emotional journey from the 1930s to the 1970s, focusing on the art and motherhood struggles of a little girl who grew up with a profound love for theatre.
Born into a family of theatre artists, young Adile falls in love with the stage during her childhood in Direklerarası. Yet her physical appearance does not align with Yeşilçam’s beauty norms; despite her extraordinary talent, she is pushed to the margins of the film industry. Forced to settle for secondary roles in theatre, Adile nonetheless captures the hearts of audiences with her warm smile.
Her most challenging role in life, however, is motherhood. When Adile learns that her son Ahmet has a congenital heart condition, her life shifts from the stage to hospital corridors. Willing to sacrifice everything, she mobilizes the entire theatre community to support his treatment. As artists of the era unite in solidarity, the sorrow hidden behind Adile’s famous, cheerful laughter comes to light.
“Adile Naşit” poignantly portrays the sociocultural codes of the period, the prejudices within the art world, the invisible labor of women, and the deep wounds of motherhood. Going beyond a traditional biography, it leaves the audience with a farewell letter woven with hope—reminding them of the warm feelings that once lived somewhere in time.
